MFA Data Protection

In accordance with the Law no. 677/2001 for the Protection of Persons concerning the Processing of Personal Data and free circulation of such data, with further amendments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of  Romania, registered as operator of personal data in the Register of Recording the Personal Data Processing of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing  (ANSPDCP) under the operator’s no. 5282, through the Romania’s diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad and also through the National Visa Centre, has the obligation to manage in a secured way and for the specified purposes only, the personal data you provide, according to the law, on you, on a member of your family or on another person.

The purpose of collecting data is processing and examination of applications for entry visa in Romania as well as the issuing of visas required. The persons concerned, for the above mentioned purposes, have the obligation to supply the requested personal data through the visa application forms* and the refusal to provide the requested data, determines the rejection of the visa application which will not be accepted.

The recorded information is intended for use by the operator and are communicated to the following recipients only: Romania’s diplomatic missions and consular offices, Romania’s National Visa Centre from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Romanian General Inspectorate for Immigration and the Romanian Border Police from the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In accordance with the Law no. 677/2001 you have the right of access to data, right to intervene on the data, the right not to be subject to individual decisions and the right to refer to the Court. At the same time, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data and to ask the deletion of the mentioned data.

To exercise the above mentioned rights, you can send a written, dated and signed request to the National Visa Centre. Similarly you have the right to refer to the Court.

In accordance with the provisions of article 41, paragraph 1 from the Law no. 271 /2010 on the setting up, organization and functioning of the National Visa Information System and Romania’s participation in the Visa Information System, your personal data will not be transferred or made available to other countries or international organization, except the situations stipulated in article 41, paragraph 2 of the same above mentioned Law.

In case some of data about you is incorrect we kindly ask you to inform us as soon as possible.

 


* The questions marked with * in the application forms do not have to be answered by third parties, family members of EU or EEA citizens (spouse, child or dependent ascendant). 

*** In the case you do not agree with the personal data processing you must note that the visa application will not be accepted. At the same time, in case you request the deletion of your personal data, while you hold a valid visa obtained based on the personal data whose deletion you ask for, the respective visa will be cancelled. In case the visa application is under processing and awaits a decision, the respective visa application will not be processed anymore and consequently the visa fee will not be refunded.
